Year 6 Champs Hearts

West Leonard Hearts lift Year 6 Title!

After a 16-1 regular season, the West Leonard Hearts squad went 3-0 in the Finals to win the Gr3g League Year 6 Championship Title defeating the Bridge Street Fire in the final game of the season.

Congrats to all the players, fans and retired hoopers who’ve ever worn the Hearts jersey on this great achievement!

 

End of the Regular Season, Year 6

What we know heading into the last week of the Gr3g League regular season Year 6.

The Teams:

West Leonard Hearts have a chance to go undefeated with a win in Week 16. They enter the offseason in 1st place and have a direct path to the semi-finals win or lose over the next two weeks.

Legends of the Lake, currently 8-7 and sitting in 2nd place, have a chance to end up in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th position depending on the outcome of this week’s games.

Rhythm: River North, currently 8-7 and in 3rd place, could end up in 2nd, 3rd or 4th.

Bridge Street Fire, currently 7-8 and 4th place, could finish 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th.

City of Bridges, currently 6-9 in 5th place, will end up 4th or 5th and play in the elimination 4-5 game.

GRR Roundball Ruckus Ligers, are currently 1-14 in 6th place. They play the Hearts in the first week of the postseason followed by the loser of the 4-5 match in week 2.

 

The Players:

Amir is leading the Total Points category with 229. EJ is second (178), followed in the Top Ten by AJ (150), ADaKid(144), El Toro (144), D Bake (143), Bonez (138), Money (138), Big Fuzz (132) and BK (132).

Parker is the leading rebounder heading into Week 16 with 132. EJ trails closely with 130. ADaKid and JMills are tied for 3rd (111). D Bake (104), Hengy (100), Luck (91), BK & D Nags (87) follow with Silky & Gr3g (tied at 82) rounding out the Top Ten.

Good Job James (55), D Nags (50), Big Fuzz (45), Hengy (42) & Money (38) are Top Five in assists.

El Toro (28), D Bake (27), Big Fuzz (26), ADaKid (24) & Bonez (21) lead the League in steals.

Parker (Rhythm), Hutcherson & Bonez (Fire), Hamlet, JMills & Jody Breeze (Hearts), D Nags (City) & Baker (Legends) have played in all 15 weeks so far this season.

 

Milestones:

City: T Roof brought down 8 rebounds in Week 15 to cross the 400-mark (405). D Nags scored 6 points to extend his all-time league high total to 657 and is nearing the 200-mark in assists (194). Gustafson recently had baby #2 and has been out indefinitely.

Amir (Rhythm) had 29 points in Week 15 to put himself over the 300-mark for his career (302). Bonez (298) & ADaKid (291) have a chance to do so in Week 16.

B. Buckets (Ligers) leads in all-time 3GM with 34, trailed by Money (22), Bandit (21), Gr3g (18) & Wall (14).

ADaKid (Ligers) had 19 points and 14 rebounds this past week to reach the 250-250 mark (291-258).

Gr3g (Legends) filled in at center and finished with 11 points and 9 rebounds to cross the 500-500 plateau (502-505).

 

Fortune favors The 500 Club

Only three players in the history of the Gr3g League have amassed over 500 total career points.

In the lead overall is D Nags with 553 points. “Uncle Dan” is a fan favorite who has played in 72 games over 5-plus seasons.

The race for second place is a continued on-and-off race between lifetime players Silky and Money.

Silky takes the lead for now at 512 while Money is right on his tail at 511.

This is a race to watch over the entirety of Year 6.

Coming in next on the list to potentially cross the 500 line are T-Roof at 485, B. Buckets at 450, and Gr3g at 420.

Cuervo at 370, Kid A at 369, and Good Job James at 329 all have the opportunity to hit the 400-point career mark later this season.

City of Bridges wins Year 5

Repeat Champions!

 

City of Bridges completed a 3-0 Finals Series to take home their second consecutive Gr3g League championship. 

After an opening week win over the Rhythm, the Blues stole a late victory in week two over the Hearts and finished the sweep with a confirmation of their title in a week three win over the Fire. 

Year 5 & Finals MVP T-Roof led the way while D Nags, the league’s all-time leading scorer, scored the final points of Year 5.

Round-Robin Finals begin This week

The regular season of is over and the Finals Series is set for the 2nd annual Gr3g League 4-Team Round-Robin Finals Event.

Last year’s champions City of Bridges returns to the Finals as the #1 seed after a 14-4 season. Last year’s runner-up Rhythm: River North finds themselves at 13-5 as the #2 seed. These two historic franchises will meet in Game One with a chance to secure the easiest path to the Year 5 Title.

The Bridge Street Fire secured the #3 seed with a 12-5 record and they’ll face off against the #4 seed West Leonard Hearts. The two newest teams to the league face off in a Ward 1 battle.

Winners of these games will face off in Week 2 of the Finals to secure the opportunity to go 3-0 and confirm the Championship.

In Week 3, the teams face off with the remaining unplayed opponent with everything on the line.

If multiple teams go 2-1, the first tiebreaker is total point differential in the Finals Series.

The second tiebreaker is 63-point victories in the Finals Series.

The third tiebreaker is total team 3Gs made in the Finals Series.

The fourth and final tiebreaker is Year 5 regular season victories.

Legends of the Lake announce plan to return for Year 6

The Legends of the Lake have announced that the team in gold & purple will return to the Gr3g League for Year 6 (2025-26) to

begin the Fall 2025 session.

Headlined by the return to the League of the original commissioner, Lost Ang3l.

Also known as LT the Referee to his YouTube subscribers, the soon-to-be 49-year-old will head up operations during the summer recruiting season for the Legends.
