Legends of the Lake

Put together in mid-2022, the Legends of the Lake are the rag-tag bunch of over-40 players that ran games throughout the 2022-23 season.

Created in honor of our friends at Classic Rock 97 WLAV, the Legends put together a great run (although they didn’t win very much) for our Hoops Hero of 2021, Michelle McKormick!

The Mayor of Riverside Gardens did her best to help the League during the Covid lockdown, introduced Boston during our inaugural BeerCityHoops draft and was an instrumental part in the resurgence of the League post-pandemic.

(League staff owes so much to Michelle, Travis & the Morning Show for the work done during the pandemic.)

Now that it’s 2023, maybe we give an ode to new LAV ProDirt’r Gregg Henson as a 3G ambassador?

The Legends are not officially retired, are still a player in Ward 3, but they need a sponsor (WLAV?) and about a dozen old heads sporadically to return to glory days for awhile to teach these kids (under-40) a Legendary lesson in fundamental hoops.
