Sixth Street Nets

 

Team History: Created in 2022 as the 2055: Orange, later renamed 2055: Southside, a tribute to the history of Ottawa Hills High School athletics and the surrounding neighborhoods on Grand Rapids’ southeast side. The original members of the team, as put together by the League Admin office, consisted of players from the northeast side of GR Township (Baker) & a Hoosier (Juice). Thus, the decision was made to relocate the team, actually tossing them from the Sixth Street Bridge into the cold water Rapids of the Grand just upstream from Fish Ladder Park. Alas, the Sixth Street Nets were forged from the interior steel of their 2nd Ward rivals, the City of Bridges.
